Does Check ID store customer data?
Check ID doesn't keep the personal details from a scanned ID — no name, birth date, address, photo, or ID number. You can optionally save names to a guest list on your device. On Team accounts a scan record keeps the outcome plus non-identifying facts about the document, such as age in whole years and the issuing state, together with a one-way cryptographic pass-back code that contains none of the above and deletes itself automatically.

Does Check ID help with Tobacco 21 compliance?
Check ID lets you set a minimum age of 21 for tobacco and alcohol sales, or a custom age, and keeps a timestamped record of each check. Compliance is something your business achieves through its own procedures — no app can certify it, and Check ID does not claim to.
Does Check ID detect fake IDs or verify REAL ID?
Check ID reads what a barcode, mobile ID, or passport chip actually contains and flags what doesn't add up, but it can't tell you a physical card is counterfeit — a well-made fake encodes a valid barcode. It also reports a document's REAL ID compliance indicator as encoded, when the document carries one. See how verification works for exactly what each check does and doesn't do.
Can a charter operator use Check ID to check passenger ID at the FBO?
Yes. Part 135 flights under TSA's Twelve-Five program have required REAL ID-compliant identification or an acceptable alternative since May 7, 2025 — and the operator's own crew performs the check. Check ID reads the license barcode and reports its REAL ID indicator as encoded on the document, verifies passport chips against the issuing government's signature, reads military CACs, and keeps a signed, staff-attributed record of every check with no passenger data stored.
