Report verification
Verify a Check ID report
Were you handed a Check ID report? Enter the code printed on it to open the copy Check ID hosts, then compare the figures with the copy you have.
Dashes and capital letters don’t matter.
A report is a record of scanning activity, not a certification of legal compliance. It shows what the business recorded in Check ID, nothing more.
What a matching copy shows
Every shared report has a code, and Check ID hosts a copy under it: the business, the venue (or “All venues”), the reporting period and the report’s totals, such as total scans and results. The figures were fixed when the report was created and don’t change.
If they match the copy you were given, those figures are the ones Check ID produced from the business’s scan records. You can also download the hosted PDF to compare side by side.
Two differences are expected. Each PDF shows the day it was produced as its Generated date, including a copy you download from the hosted page. And a report shared on or before September 20, 2026 may also list scans by staff member: the hosted copy and a fresh download no longer show that section, and every other figure is unchanged.
A report holds totals, not customers. Scan records never keep a customer’s name, date of birth, address or ID number, and the hosted copy doesn’t name employees.
What it doesn’t show
- Whether any ID was genuine. Check ID reads what an ID encodes, and a well-made fake can carry a valid barcode.
- Whether every customer was checked, or every scan was recorded. The report counts the scans that reached Check ID’s servers, so a scan lost before it uploaded isn’t in it.
If a code doesn’t work
The business may have withdrawn the hosted copy, it may have expired, or the code may be mistyped. If the page says it couldn’t look up the code, check your connection and try again.
